Fall Series

Next show...

Babette's Feast
Showtimes:
November 22nd, 6:45pm & 9:00pm

Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Film, Babette's Feast depicts 19th century Denmark, and two adult sisters who live despite the opportunities to see the world, live in an isolated village with their father, a pastor of a small and unique Protestant church.  They take in a beggar, Babette, who changes their lives by throwing a feast for the tiny church. Above all, Babette's Feast is about righting old wrongs, rekindling old loves, and the  mystical redemption of the human spirit... just in time for Thanksgiving.

We will be offering a dollar off all snack-bar items with the presentation of non-perishable foods that will be donated to the Lansdowne Ministerium Food Pantry.

Past Shows...

Our Man Flint was lots of fun.  It was great to roll out the Flint Quiz, and see how many questions our viewers were able to answer as they watched the film.  We're going to start making this a regular feature.

We had a great time seeing This is Spinal Tap!
and had fun with a costume contest.

A big thank you to Wee Willie Webber for doing a great job of hosting our Japanimation Retrospective. We all enjoyed watching Tobor, Ultraman, Spiderman and Speed Racer.

We were also glad to see Art Baxter (host of last season's animation retrospective) in attendance.  Here he is pictured with Wee Willie.

Thank You

Thank you to all who came out and enjoyed the movies with us this summer.  We had a great time showing Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion with guest host Tsering Wangdi, The Retro Animation Showcase with guest host Art Baxter, Truly Madly Deeply, and Cinema Paradiso.

We are taking a couple of months off to plan our Fall series which will begin September 27th and run every other Saturday through December 6th.

We are also looking for folks interested in joining us and planning the fall series.  Please send us an email if you are interested, at LansdowneSofaCinema@gmail.com.

Also, come say "Hello" to us each Saturday at the Lansdowne Farmer's Market.  We'll be soliciting input for upcoming movies, and selling our delicious popcorn.
